Motivation

We are building the conditions for change.

The Persimmon Co-Lab (PCL) was founded to support the fast-growing landscape movement. This global drive links livelihood improvement, climate resilience, and nature regeneration for long-term sustainable development in rural communities.

Across the world, communities are pioneering new ways to care for land and natural resources while improving lives. But they often lack the finance, governance systems, and strategic support to scale their impact.

That’s where we come in.

Our mission

We exist to help communities reduce poverty, regenerate nature, and build lasting climate resilience.

PCL works with frontline leaders, coalitions, and institutions to unlock the finance, governance systems, and tools they need to scale impact. By blending direct support with open, field-building infrastructure, we create the conditions for systemic change worldwide.

Why "Persimmon"?

The persimmon tree thrives in diverse ecosystems, bearing fruit in its own time. Across cultures, it symbolizes resilience, adaptability, and transformation. We aim to work the same way: patiently, collaboratively, and with a focus on creating the conditions for long-term impact rather than short-term wins.

The "Co-Lab" reflects our method: a collaborative laboratory where practitioners, communities, and institutions come together to prototype, iterate, co-create, and deploy solutions for regenerative development.

Who we are

We are a practitioner-led, learning-oriented center of excellence working at the intersection of direct service and field-building. Our team brings decades of experience designing and implementing integrated landscape and territorial strategies in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and North America.

PCL combines the expertise of a core team, an experienced advisory board, and a deep network of collaborators and strategic partners. Together, we are uniquely positioned to bridge global systems and local realities. Our singular goal: to assist frontline leaders in succeeding on their own terms.
