What we do

We concentrate on two key areas that promote systemic change globally: unleashing the power of finance to restore and sustainably manage land and natural resources, and developing the frameworks communities and decision-makers need to ensure these investments are effective.

At PCL, our direct service work is deeply connected to our commitment to system change. Because we bring decades of experience in landscape governance, finance, and advising on integrated approaches, we can identify and pursue high-leverage interventions —the moments, partners, and projects that have the potential to transform how landscapes and bioregions are

governed and resourced. We collaborate with partners potentially influential in systems change, including local and regional partnerships, investors, companies, government agencies, and key service organizations, that are modeling the innovations the field needs to scale.

At the same time, we provide strategic support to the broader multi-organizational initiatives that are building the global architecture for transformation. This dual focus allows us to deliver services at both levels: helping bold place-based initiatives succeed, and ensuring that the systems built to support them are grounded, effective, and scalable.
